About

Welcome to the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Schools blog! We are excited to have you come and explore what BBE has to offer.

This blog was created to give people inside (and outside) our community a look into the inner workings of the BBE schools!

Here are a couple messages from our principals about BBE.

From Superintendent and High School Principal, Matt Bullard:

Welcome to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Schools. It is a pleasure to work with all the families and students at the high school.

BBE High School strives to meet the needs of all learners. We offer a variety of courses that provide students with the opportunity to achieve their best while pursuing their interest. I encourage all students to try a variety of courses throughout their academic career. While the core classes are largely dictated by State standards, it is also important for students to experience the elective offerings available.

While schools are frequently judged based on their academic performance, we also offer a variety of extracurricular activities. We provide a full range of athletic opportunities while offering a host of academic clubs including Speech, Drama, FFA, Birch Coolie, FCCLA and MSHSL Instrumental and Vocal Contest.

BBE High School has partnered with Central Lakes College to offer a variety of college classes.  In additional to traditional courses, BBE’s partnership allows students to participate in on-line courses while earning college credit.  New this school year, all students in grades nine through twelve will be issued a Chromebook to assist their academic development; while, middle school students will be issued an Ipad Mini.

I invite you to explore what Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School is all about.

Go Jaguars!

From Elementary Principal Rick Gossen:

Welcome to the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Elementary Schools! We are excited to have you come and explore what BBE Elementary has to offer.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rick Gossen. A product of southwest Minnesota, I grew up in Minneota! Go Vikings! I am in my twelfth year as principal at BBE Elementary. I am also in my seventh year as the Activities Director. Prior to coming to BBE, I spent two years in Hendricks, Minnesota as the elementary principal at Lincoln HI Elementary. I started my career in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota as a first grade teacher. During nine years there, I also taught third grade and junior high mathematics. I served as an interim elementary principal in my last year at Sleepy Eye. Everything considered this will mark twenty-three years in education.

When I am not busy with my duties as principal at BBE, I have three daughters that keep me occupied. My wife Shannon and I have Jaden (age 18), Jacqueline (age 15), and Jenna (age 10). I enjoy coaching (Go Jags!), golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

If you are a parent of one of our students or a family that is considering BBE as an option, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
